Jackson-Bratton Heading to Lincoln
Two Jacksonville High School track and field standouts are headed to Lincoln College.
James Jackson and Reggie Bratton announced their intentions at Jacksonville High School this afternoon.
Lincoln College is a two year, liberal arts junior college in Lincoln.
Both will compete at the state track and field meet on Friday in Charleston. Bratton has competed at four state meets, and Jackson at 3.
Jackson likes Lincoln College's size.
Jackson will compete Friday on two of the relay teams.
Bratton has the best time in the state at the sectional level at 100 meters. He's impressed with the Lincoln College program
JHS head track and field coach Tim Thrasher says Jackson and Bratton are committed to track and field.
Lincoln College coach Brian Herron says Lincoln College competes at a national level.
Herron says he knows Lincoln College could serve as a big stepping stone to a four year school.
The JHS boys track and field program last year placed third in the state, with Jackson and Bratton leading the way.
