The Citizens’ Ballot Initiative Fundraiser is tonight at 6:00 at Hamilton’s. Tickets are ten dollars. Springfield alderwoman Doris Turner will be the keynote speaker for tonight’s event. She’ll talk about the difference between ward-based and at-large elections. Her presentation begins at about 6:40.

That will be followed by a live auction with St. Louis Cardinals tickets, free voice lessons and a makeover up for grabs.

The event is meant to raise money for Ballot Initiative PAC for its efforts to promote ward-based representation on Jacksonville’s school board.

Voters will decide on the topic April 9th.
