The Jacksonville Anheuser-Busch wholesaler is changing owners after 69 years of service.

WLDS-WEAI News received word this morning that Golden Eagle Distributing Inc., the Anheuser-Busch wholesaler out of Hannibal, Missouri has purchased the Jacksonville Anheuser-Busch wholesaler, currently owned by A. Gaudio & Sons Inc.

Sales Manager Mickey Marks says Golden Eagle operates in a market similar to Jacksonville, making it the perfect company to take over for A. Gaudio & Sons.

“We’re excited that they operate the way we do. They are very involved in the market, community minded, charitable and loyal to their employers. We probably couldn’t have found a better partner to pass our business on to,” says Marks.

Marks says it means a lot for the Gaudio Family to be a part of the Jacksonville community for so long.

“This community is an outstanding community for the Gaudio Family and our employees.  We are proud of our record of community involvement and charitable deeds. We are proud of the service we have given to our market and extremely happy with the friends we have made. It means the world to us,” says Marks.

Golden Eagle Distributing President Michael Risenbeck added in a press release that, “We look forward to continuing the strong traditions of service and community involvement established by the Gaudio family. We hope to be part of all the special events whether they are big or small. That has been a huge part of our success since 1982 at Golden Eagle.”

Golden Eagle will continue to operate and distribute from the current Gaudio warehouse at 449 South Sandy. Marks couldn’t comment if there would be any personnel changes for the 21 current employees.

The sale is expected to go into effect on November 18.
