Area man hospitalized, no arrests made after alleged stabbing

One person is hospitalized following an alleged stabbing last night in Jacksonville.

According to reports from Jacksonville Police, officers responded to a call on the 400 block of South Mauvaisterre shortly after 8:30 p.m. The report police received was in reference to a subject claiming that they had been stabbed with a knife.

Upon arrival, police found the victim to be a 36-year old male, and the alleged attacker was described as a bald, heavyset male. The victim was transported by paramedics to Passavant Area Hospital and subsequently to Memorial Hospital in Springfield to be treated with non-life-threatening injuries.

As for the suspect, police were unable to locate the alleged male attacker.
