BREAKING: Waverly man burned in alleged house “explosion”

A Waverly house suffered some type of explosion this morning.

Few details are being released at this point by law enforcement, but what has been confirmed is that Waverly Rescue was dispatched to a medical call at around 5:45 a.m. The call was in reference to a subject who was burned in some type of accident at 185 West Prairie Street.

Waverly Rescue, Waverly Police and Morgan County Deputies responded to the residential house, which had suffered interior and exterior damage.

A search warrant was obtained and the Illinois Fire Marshall and Secretary of State Bomb Squad assisted with the removal of potentially dangerous material.

The name of the 48-year-old man injured and his current condition is not being released at this time.
