Jacksonville City Council will take its first vote on the 2014 Appropriations Budget tonight.

Aldermen have spent the last two weeks discussing the budget, but no major changes have been made. Mayor Andy Ezard says more discussion is expected this evening before first reading.

City Council is expected to discuss and vote on a resolution giving the go ahead for Hutchison Engineering to begin work on the North Main Extension Project. More discussion is also expected concerning the Lake Mauvaisterre Watershed Project.

And aldermen will vote on the first reading of an ordinance annexing property in the 2200 block of West Morton that will be used as a new assisted living facility.

Tonight’s meeting is preceded by the workshop session at 6:30 in the Commission Room of the Municipal Building.
