Jacksonville City Council will meet for the only time this month tonight.
Mayor Andy Ezard says aldermen will take up a second reading of the 2014 tax levy ordinance. He says the city will be asking for a five percent increase. That figure was debated by City Council at its last meeting.
Aldermen will also discuss and vote on amending the liquor ordinance. Ezard says City Council must approve adding a liquor license for the soon-to-open Buffalo Wild Wings.
In other business, City Council will discuss whether it wants to participate in the grant application for the Lake Mauvaisterre Watershed Project. Ezard says aldermen seemed open to the idea at the last meeting.
Tonight’s meeting is preceded by the workshop session at 6:30 in the Commission Room of the Municipal Building at 200 West Douglas.
