Crash at Morgan-Sangamon border leaves motorcyclist in “serious condition”

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after a crash with a vehicle on the Morgan-Sangamon County line this morning.

The accident was reported to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department at around 11:10 a.m.

Witnesses tell us the vehicle was traveling east on Route 36 and  allegedly clipped the oncoming motorcycle while making a left turn.

Morgan County Deputies told us the driver of the motorcycle was “shot airborne” during the collision.

The motorcyclist was transported by Lifeline’s Air Evac helicopter to a Springfield hospital at around noon.

Names of the individuals involved in the accident have not been released at this time.

Jacksonville Fire Department and New Berlin Emergency Services were also on scene.
