Crime Stoppers needs public’s help with residential burglary

Officials with Crime Stoppers of Morgan and Scott Counties are asking for information about a residential burglary that occurred last week.

Authorities say sometime between the afternoon of Thursday, October 3rd and the afternoon of Friday, October 4th someone entered an apartment in the 300 block of West College and took several items, including two televisions, an X-box game console and a telescope. The total value of the missing items is estimated at over $1,300.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 243-7300. You can also submit at tip online at morganscottcrimestoppers.webs.com. Tips may also be submitted by texting 274637 (CRIMES). The first word of the text tip must be “payout”.

In addition, the Jacksonville Police Department reported three thefts this afternoon.

A resident in the 400 block of Kentucky reportedly told officers at around 4:45 a.m. that sometime between 10:30 last night and the time of the call, someone removed a 37-inch JVC flatscreen television from the residence.

According to reports, A Randall Court resident told officers at 9 a.m. that sometime overnight, someone removed a 47-inch Vizio flatscreen TV from their residence.

Reports also indicate a 300 West Douglas resident told officers at 9 a.m. that sometime between 11:30 last night and the time of the call, someone removed a stuffed Halloween mannequin and three light-up pumpkins from their residence.
