Davis hoping to make flying more family-friendly

Representative Rodney Davis has introduced a new provision to help make flying more family-friendly.

The provision was included in the bill to reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration.

According to a press release, the provision would require airline carriers to notify passengers traveling with young children if seats are not available together at the initial booking stage.

Davis says there is an easy solution to this problem.

“There have been so many times during my flights where a flight attendant gets on the intercom asking somebody to give up their seat so a family can sit together. That happens too often. We want to put this step in, because it isn’t going to cost people or the airlines any money. When parents are buying a reserved seat they need to know if their kids are going to be seated next to them.”

The Aviation Innovation, Reform and Reauthorization Act is similar to the Families Flying Together Act of 2015, which was also introduced by Davis.
