Greene County’s Congressman will serve on the Farm Bill Conference Committee.
U.S. Representative Rodney Davis has been selected to serve on the House-Senate Conference Committee tasked with resolving differences between the House and Senate-passed Farm Bills.
The House passed a motion to go to conference with the Senate on Friday.
Davis says “Lost in the discussions of the government shutdown and the debt limit is the fact that the Farm Bill expired earlier this month.” He says farmers and the entire agriculture sector need the certainty that a long-term Farm Bill will bring them.
Davis says he “look[s] forward to working with my colleagues to quickly finalize the long-term bill that our agriculture community deserves.”
Davis is the only freshman member of the House to be selected to serve on the committee.
