District 117 filled Turner Junior High’s vacant assistant principal position last night.
Kyle Price, an administrator in the Riverton School District, will start the role next school year.
District 117 originally selected Lincoln Elementary principal Paul Monrad for the job, but Monrad turned down the offer in March.
Three District 117 dean of student positions were also filled during the meeting.
Dan Scott, a teacher in the Triopia School District, Susi Newman, a teacher at South Elementary and Alyson Karsgaard of Washington Elementary were officially introduced to the public. Each dean is responsible for two schools in the District.
The partnering schools are North Elementary with Lincoln Elementary, Eisenhower Elementary with Washington Elementary and South Elementary with Murrayville-Woodson Elementary.
District 117 officials believe the additional deans will improve the academic and behavioral atmosphere of all six elementary schools in Jacksonville.
