A District 117 teacher was arrested for DUI over the weekend.
Forty-three-year-old Paula James of Greenbriar Drive was picked up at her residence at about 11:00 Saturday night after being involved in a two-vehicle accident.
Jacksonville Police reports indicate James’ vehicle struck another vehicle near Morton and Lincoln and did not stop. The report says the driver of the vehicle that was struck followed James’ car to Greenbriar apartments and called police.
James was arrested for DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and making an improper turn at an intersection.
District 117 officials has confirmed James is a teacher at South Elementary School and is still employed by the district. They did have any other comment at this time.
