A former employee of a Jacksonville fast food restaurant will serve jail time for stealing tens of thousands of dollars from the store.
Twenty-five-year-old Ashliegh Fredericks of the 4-hundred block of South Mauvaisterre pleaded guilty to theft charges in Morgan County Court this morning. She was sentenced to 120 days in jail, a portion of which was stayed, and ordered to serve four years of probation.
Fredericks was ordered to pay nearly $27,000 in restitution to the Latitude Subrogation Services, the insurance company representing Burger Board, for losses incurred by the restaurant over a four-year period.
Morgan County State’s Attorney Bobby Bonjean says that’s how long Fredericks was stealing money before her May 2015 arrest. Bonjean says the money was stolen through an employee override function on the cash register.
Fredericks was also fined $1,075.
A secondary theft charge was dismissed as part of the plea deal.
Fredericks was represented by public defender Tom Piper.
