The group will gather at the Depot Restaurant in Virginia on August 21 at 6 p.m.
Agenda items for the night include putting a slate of officers and directors in place. The Friends of Jim Edgar Panther Creek group is seeking six to eight individuals that are willing and able to serve in a variety of leadership roles in the organization.
Also at the meeting, the group will be the unveiling the mission statement, the non-profit status of the group and the structure of meetings moving forward.
The first meeting on July 26 was well represented with equestrians, field trial officials, campers, hunters and fishers. At the meeting the group officially decided on the name “Friends of Jim Edgar Panther Creek”, discussed various tasks that would need to be researched going forward and shared their motivation for attending the meeting.
The upcoming meeting is open to the public. Anyone unable to attend this meeting, but would like more information can contact Dustin Fritsche at Fritsche@illinois.edu or 217-452-3211.
