13th District Congressman Rodney Davis has a challenger in next spring’s primary, and it’s a person from Carrollton.
According to state election information, Ethan Vandersand filed yesterday in Springfield shortly before noon. Vandersand’s Facebook page indicates he’s a pharmacist in Jerseyville.
According to online reports, Vandersand rejected a request to fill a prescription for the morning-after pill at the Beardstown Wal-Mart in 2006. He was reportedly disciplined by Wal-Mart but filed a civil rights lawsuit.
A federal judge subsequently ruled Illinois pharmacists were not obligated to dispense Plan-B and “emergency contraceptives” in 2007.

Congressman Darin LaHood is the only person to file for his seat in the 18th District.
