City Clerk Skip Bradshaw announced today that Jacksonville will once again use Homefield Energy as the aggregate supplier of electricity.

Bradshaw says residents will now pay .04746 cents per kilowatt hour. Citizens previously paid .0408 cents per kilowatt hour.

Residents will continue to receive on monthly bill from Ameren Illinois and are still eligible for the same programs through the utility and energy efficiency programs. The only change will be the Electric Supply price on the Ameren Illinois bill.

Those new to the program will receive a confirmation letter from Ameren once the account is enrolled.

All eligible participants will be automatically enrolled in the program unless they choose to opt out. The deadline to do so is May 2nd. There is no enrollment or switching fee.

Homefield Energy will be the Jacksonville’s supplier for a 2-year agreement.
