Jacksonville’s Buffalo Wild Wings will open in February.
WLDS-WEAI News was the first to tell you the restaurant chain was coming to Jacksonville. City resident Dustin Crews will be the operating partner of the Buffalo Wild Wings. He says the original open date of mid-December has been pushed back a couple of months.
Crews says the restaurant will be located in the shopping center near County Market in the 1200 block of West Morton.
“We like it as far as its proximity to Illinois College and being right in the middle of Morton Avenue. It just seems like a very easy place to get to, and the places we looked at where we felt comfortable is the easiest access to the colleges and in general, getting in and out,” he says.
Crews says the building will be renovated to incorporate the theme of other Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants.
“We’re going to reset the front of the building back, so we’ll have a patio on the front of the building. We’ll have exterior dining, which is going to be nice, and when you go into the restaurant, it’s going to be like all the other Buffalo Wild Wings that you see,” says Crews. “We’re going to have approximately forty 55-inch TVs in it. We’re going to have nine 120-inch projection TVs.”
He says the restaurant and sports bar will be 66-hundred square feet.
Crews will operate the Buffalo Wild Wings with business partner Doug Cekander of Peoria.
Crews says the restaurant will be a job creator.
“Initially we will probably be somewhere around 90, give or take. Once we get settled in, we’ll settle in somewhere around 75 as an average. We’ll also have four salaried managers in the restaurant.”
Buffalo Wild Wings is a sports bar and restaurant that specializes in several flavors of boneless and traditional chicken wings along with a full lunch and dinner menu.
