JHS and Goodwill teaming up for a great cause

Students from Jacksonville High School and Goodwill’s GoodGuides youth participants will be holding a one day donation drive on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in JHS parking lot.

The event is in conjunction with Earth Day and will focus on accepting donations of recyclable items such as computers, printers, flat panel TVs, old cell phones, speakers, cords and cables and other small electronics.

Traditional donations like gently worn clothing and household goods also accepted. CRT type computer screens and tube-type TVs will not accepted.

Recycled goods and donations will be processed and sold at Goodwill retails stores providing funding for Goodwill’s Mission programs that help create jobs and job training.

The GoodGuides program provides positive activities for at risk youth in the community and makes sure they have the tools to succeed in the workplace.
