A shooting in Jacksonville remains under investigation by local law enforcement.

Reports from the Jacksonville Police Department claim the incident occurred in the 300 block of South Church. A caller advised officers he heard screaming, some kind of disturbance and what he “thought were three gun shots” at around 5 p.m. on Sunday.

JPD Lieutenant Adam Mefford confirmed a 17-year-old male was taken to Passvant Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries last night for a single gunshot wound to the arm. The victim has been treated and released.

Police have several people of interest and are working to identify witnesses who were present at the shooting.
