Lack of state funding forcing PBS Jacksonville to reduce broadcast hours

Starting May 6th, WSEC/PBS Jacksonville will be making some cost cutting measures.

According to a press release, the loss of state funding is forcing the station to sign on later in the day. The station has signed on at 6:30 a.m., but now will sign on at 10 a.m.

Monday through Friday the station will sign off at 10 p.m. and over the weekend the sign off time will an hour later.

WSEC/PBS Jacksonville President Jerold Gruebel hopes “the changes are temporary.”

Viewers of WSEC/PBS Jacksonville are encouraged to contribute to the station to avoid further cuts to programming. Call 1-800-232-3605 to make a donation.
