One Jacksonville man is behind bars following his arrest by the Central Illinois Drug Enforcement Group.

According to police reports, 38-year old Jamie Lee Daniels, of the 500 block of East Lafayette, was booked at the county jail at around 10:30 a.m. yesterday for manufacturing or delivery of 15 to 200 objects, or “doses” of LSD.

Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Carmody explains how authorities were able to apprehend Daniels.

“A deputy who’s attached the to the Illinois State Police CIEG (Central Illinois Enforcement Group) unit gathered enough probably cause for the arrest. Him and another deputy went to a residence on Lafayette Street and took him in to custody,”says Carmody.

Carmody also breaks down how the investigation into Daniels initially started, and eventually led to an arrest.

“The investigation actually took place approximately three weeks ago. After some leg work, the detective had enough information, and it was corroborated, so he went ahead and made the arrest,” Carmody explains.

As for whether there might be any additional arrests made in this case, Carmody says as of now, they’re treating this as an isolated incident.

Daniels currently remains lodged at the Morgan County Detention Facility.
