Jacksonville’s state senator is endorsing a gubernatorial candidate.
Sam McCann has formally announced his support for State Senator Kirk Dillard and State Representative Jil Tracy for the governor and lieutenant governor Republican ticket in 2014.
McCann says Dillard has the ability to get things done in Springfield. He says Dillard is uncompromising of his conservative principles and that his unique work experience, including working as Chief of Staff to Governor Jim Edgar, which McCann considers the state’s last successful administration.
McCann says Illinois’ government is broken and that a Republican governor is needed to bring balance back to the Democrat-controlled state house. McCann says Dillard’s commitment to live in the Governor’s Mansion in Springfield is a must to effectively run state government.
McCann also commented on Dillard’s pick of Jil Tracy as his running mate. The former Cass County representative before redistricting, McCann says Tracy has the most experience of any of the lieutenant gubernatorial candidates.
