Mixture of Morphine, Alcohol, and Codeine Determined to Be Mixture in OD on Prairie Street

Toxicology reports on a man found dead in September confirm he died of an opioid overdose. Hisham A. Mohamed, 42, was found unresponsive about 10:14 a.m. September 6th inside a residence in the 700 block of South Church Street along with two other men. The two others were taken to Passavant Area Hospital, treated and released many days later.

Reports obtained through an open records request by the Journal-Courier noted the presence of six synthetic morphine pills. According to the report, completed by NMS Labs, the drug is a form of morphine and is generally indicative of heroin usage. The report indicated Mohamed also had levels of ethanol, codeine and morphine in his system, according to the Journal Courier.
