UPDATE AS OF 2/14/2018: Due to inclement weather, the 5K was rescheduled for February 24th. Registration will begin at 9 am and the run/walk will start at 10 am. Registration is $30 per person. The fee will stay the same if you sign up early or day of.

When it’s cold outside, we all want to bundle up and grab a cup of hot chocolate. How about lacing up a pair of running shoe and grabbing a hot coco? Morgan-Scott CEO is hosting its first ever Hot Chocolate 5K Run. Max Schaad is the evet manger and a member of Morgan-Scott CEO and he says this all started with a simple fund raising idea.
“We were brainstorming ideas in our class about what would be a unique idea or business idea to do. A lot of us thought, none of the other classes have ever done something like a 5K. So we decided to try something new and unique and see how well it would go.” said Schaad.
Registration will begin around 9 in the morning on Saturday and the 5K at Nichols Park is set to begin at 10. The event is for all ages. If a 5K sounds a little too much for you, Morgan-Scott CEO is also hosting a carnival at the park. That will last until around 2 pm. Schaad says about 40 people have already signed up to run.
“We don’t have a goal, per say, but all of the money we are trying to make right now will go to the students in the class. The event itself is a class business run by our class and whatever we make or profit or make off of it, will go in our individual businesses for the next coming months to help kick start our individual businesses themselves. All the proceeds from the 5k, kids carnival.” Schaad said.
