A Murrayville man died while working on a grain harvest last night in Morgan County.

According to a press release from Morgan County Coroner Jeff Lair, 69-year-old Gary Clark was working for a Murrayville trucking company and operating a vehicle in a field near Froghill Road, close to Nortonville, when he fell off of the back of his trailer that was taking grain from an adjacent combine.

Clark was pronounced dead on the scene around 6:20 p.m. The incident was reported about an hour earlier.

Witnesses say after Clark fell, he got up, walked around the truck and collapsed. Lair says he didn’t appear to suffer any physical trauma from the fall, and his death may have stemmed from medical problems.

An autopsy is scheduled for today.
