An area volunteer Emergency Ambulance Service is hosting its big fund raiser to help pay for new equipment and the daily up keep.

This Saturday, March 3rd,  the Murrayville-Woodson Emergency Ambulance Service will host its 31st annual Consignment Auction.

President Bob Vanbebber recently joined our WLDS “What’s on your mind” to talk about this weekend’s auction.

“This is our major fund raiser, we are an all volunteer agency, non tax supportable. This is one of the three big fund raisers of the year to try and keep this place operational. It what pays our bills and everything.”  said Vanbebber

The auction will also give away a John Deere 4-wheeler. You may purchase tickets all the way until the give away.

Vanbebber explains the turn out over the last few years.

“In the past, it has been large but I want to be truthful with you, I expect it to be a smaller this year. But we still have a lot of good stuff here. A lot furniture, a lot of antique furniture. A lot of good farm machinery, cars, trucks, campers, if you have a need come see us.” Vanbebber said.

The volunteer E.A.S. Relies on this fund raiser to help pay for most, if not all of its equipment. Vanbebber says the items that are in need.

“We are looking for a stair chair, it’s a chair where you put elderly people in and it helps moves them down the stairs. We need a defibrillators and a jump kit. Each jump kit carries oxygen and stuff like that. Each one costs about $400 a piece. We need about 15 right now and that’s a big expense. 15 times 400.” Vanbebber said.
