A new committee is questioning if Jacksonville High School needs a new mascot.

The Mascot Review Committee is seeking the input of students, faculty, staff, coaches, alumni and community members about possibly adding to the Crimson name.

The committee will discuss and debate whether Jacksonville High School needs a symbol, character, figure or shield to unify the school community.

A small focus group has been planned for February 21st. Any ideas can be sent to CrimsonMascot@JSD117.org.

The top five ideas will be presented to the District 117 Superintendent and Board of Education.
