With students making their return to classes this week, District 117 board members will meet tonight to cast their votes on action items such as an agreement with an autism program and new software equipment for the district.

The board will vote on the approval of recommending a Board Certified Behavior Analyst for the 2014-2015 school year. The contract would be made with The Autism Program of Illinois.

Other items on the table for board members include a vote to approve the purchase of the School Locator software for District 117. The software is used to assist with attendance boundary questions based on address searches.

Officials hired for Turner Jr. High girls and boys basketball games may be getting a pay increase. The board will vote on a recommendation to increase the pay of officials to $50 for every two games worked.

A proposal to increase the adult lunch price at the high school level to $3.05 will also be discussed. The price for elementary and junior high teachers would remain $2.55.

The student handbook will also be reviewed by board members. Changes to the handbook this year include rules on cell phone usage in school and curriculum goals for the Early Years Program.

The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at Jacksonville High School.
