Jacksonville residents will be pleased to hear that the Nichols Park Pool has officially announced their reopening date.
The pool will open its doors for public hours on July 12th.
Park supervisor Bruce Surratt says after nearly a month of work, the updates on the pool are up to code.
“We went ahead and completed the pouring of the concrete in the drain system of the Nichols Park Pool yesterday in the late afternoon,” says Surratt.
“We had personnel on hand from the Illinois Department of Public Health watching over what we do with the new draining system and everything seemed to go very well.”
Surratt notes the scheduled events and classes at the Nicholas Park Pool will remain intact, just a week delayed.
“We will go ahead and plan on having our swimming lessons at the Nichols Park Pool this month and into August we will be getting information out on those events very soon.”
The Nichols Park Pool plans on releasing several special deals for swimmers in the near future.
