The Jacksonville Fire Department is staying busy this week, as they responded to yet another fire yesterday, this time on Baldwin Road.

According to reports from the local Fire Department, crews arrived at the scene in the 2-thousand block of Baldwin Road shortly before 12:30 p.m. yesterday. Upon arrival, the front porch and living room were engulfed in flames while an adjoining dining room was partly in flames.

Authorities say it took around 10 minutes to get the fire coming from those rooms under control before spending close to another hour working to extinguish other areas of the house.

Along with the Jacksonville Fire Department, crews from the South Jacksonville Fire Department assisted in fighting the fire for approximately two hours.

As for the estimate cost of damage as a result of the fire, the local fire department estimates that it caused approximately $50,000 worth of damage. Fortunately, no one was at the residence when the fire started, and no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

The local fire department has yet to determine the cause of the fire, and the incident remains under investigation at this time.
