A semi driver was lucky following a mishap Friday night at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad overpass on East College Avenue.
Jacksonville police say Sergiu Morari of Lisle was westbound on East College around 9:30 p.m. when he tried to squeeze his semi tractor trailer unit through the overpass, but his trailer was too tall and hit the structure.
Authorities say the top of the trailer had significant damage, but the bridge did not appear to sustain structural damage.
The semi tractor trailer was towed from the scene. Morari was not hurt.
