Seven nursing students from Jacksonville and the surrounding area are receiving scholarships for the 2016-17 academic year from Passavant Area Hospital.

Katelyn Holaway, a Jacksonville native and sophomore at Blessings Rieman College of Nursing, as well as MacMurray seniors Haley Kesler and Jessica Yost will receive Passavant Area Hospital Student Nurse Scholarships.

Four other recipients are being awarded both the Passavant Area Hospital Scholarship and the Chris Racey Memorial Scholarship. Those receiving both are Cassie Borcky, a Greenfield native and sophomore at MacMurray; fellow MacMurray sophomores Abby Jouett and Julianna Russotto, both of Jacksonville, and Kaitlyn Toland of Winchester.

Established at Passavant Area Hospital, the Chris Racey Memorial Scholarship was created by Joe Racey in memory of his wife, Chris. Both scholarships assist students who are enrolled full-time in a curriculum leading to licensing as a registered nurse.
