A Jacksonville resident is facing charges after 18 cannabis plants were found at his residence.

Illinois state troopers and Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 1419 Center Street last night at around 7:45 after receiving information that there was a marijuana grow operation happening in the basement of the house.

Forty-five-year-old John Rhoades was booked at the Morgan County Jail at around 5:30 p.m. Thursday for possession of more than 500 grams of cannabis and production of cannabis.

Police tell us they received permission from Rhoades, and found pot plants in the basement.

Police say the amount of cannabis plants seized will lead to felony charges.
