The Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce’s educational division is holding a reception honoring teachers on Tuesday.

The 23rd annual Educator Appreciation Reception will be Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hamilton’s in Jacksonville. The reception is an opportunity for business people to publicly thank area educators for their hard work and dedication to the children and youth of the greater Jacksonville area.

Sponsors for this year’s event are Bound to Stay Bound, Country Financial, The Farmers State Bank and trust Company, McDonald’s, Mediacom, Passavant Area Hospital and the Jacksonville Journal-Courier.

Refreshments will be served. Informational exhibits will be in place. Drawings for door prizes for educators and drawings for school prizes will be part of the festivities.

All school staff and retired educators are invited. The Chamber of Commerce is encouraging members of the business community to attend. It will be interpreted for the deaf and hearing-impaired.
