The Jacksonville Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary will host its annual fall sale at the end of the month.

Major Katie Pinkston spoke with WLDS-WEAI News about the Holiday’s On Parade Sale, which will be selling donated decorations, ranging from holiday lights, to signs and even Christmas trees.

“It basically is set up like a flea market or garage sale. Each thing has either a price on it or the whole table is the same amount. Whatever is donated to us during this week is something we are able to sell,” says Pinkston.

Pinkston says the annual event, celebrating its ninth year, continues to bring in more and more donations as profits continue to rise.

“This money is raised for our Salvation Army Young People Programing. Our Christmas season we have the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. We supply children in Morgan County in need with Christmas clothes and toys. In the summer season that money helps us with our Salvation Army day camp program,” says Pinkston.

The HOPS event brought in $6,000 last year and Pinkston hopes to raise at least $5,000 this year.

HOPS runs from 8-4 p.m. on September 30th and 8-noon on October 1st. The action can be found next to Midland’s Farm and Fleet on Morton Avenue.
