Jacksonville Main Street and Turner Junior High School are again partnering to make sure students have everything they need to go back to school.
When thinking of school donations, officials say older children are not the first ones that come to mind even though their supplies are more expensive and they are most self-conscious of not “fitting in.”
Supply lists and a drop-off box are available at several Downtown businesses through Labor Day, many offering discounts for bringing in some supplies:
-SafeCo Bakery at 214 South Main and 218 West Morton
-A Head of Times Grand Salon and Day Spa at 230 South Sandy
-Prairie Winds Engraving at 19 South Central Park Plaza
-Times Square Sewing at 63 East Central Park Plaza
-Charlotte Woodyard’s at 303 West State
Suggested supplies include trapper-style zipper notebook, pencils, blue or black ink pens, three-by-five note cards, white poster board, loose-leaf paper, post-it sticky notes, colored pencils, and plastic two-pocket folders with fasteners.
