South Jacksonville looks to finalize deal to become percentage partner in West Central Dispatch at tonight’s meeting

A handful of items, including finalizing a deal with the West Central Joint Dispatch Center, make their way onto tonight’s agenda for South Jacksonville Trustees.

The busy Thursday meeting will start with the update on water meters, sewer rates and the latest snow removal information from Village President Harry Jennings.

Later in the evening, the board will discuss 11 different action items. They will begin by talking about accepting the school project proposal from Prairie State Bank and Trust. Then, the board will discuss an ordinance to approve an engagement letter with Ice Miller as Bond Counsel.

As previously reported, the Village is taking some of the responsibility when it comes to improving the roadway around South Elementary School simultaneous to District 117’s renovation of the school. Thus the Board will then discuss an engagement of services agreement with K.E. Vas for school road work Trustees will also consider a services agreement with Kinney’s Contractors for concrete work near the South Jacksonville Fire Department.

Among the many topics, the Village of South Jacksonville will vote on whether or not to approve the purchase of In-Car cameras for the Police department.

The meeting is set to begin around 7pm at the Village Hall Board Room, located at 301 Dewey Drive in South Jacksonville.
