Two Jacksonville residents are behind bars after reportedly causing serious harm to another person during a Sunday night scuffle.

Twenty-four-year-old Brittany Wilkins of the 600 block of South Diamond and 18-year-old Vantikah Guider of the 700 block of North Diamond were arrested in the 700 block of North Clay at around 9:30 p.m. for aggravated battery.

Police reports indicate Wilkins and Guider struck a victim with a glass bottle and cut her with a knife, causing serious injuries to her head. Police Lieutenant Sean Walker says the incident happened during a large fight. He says the victim was taken to the hospital with “non-life-threatening injuries.”

Wilkins was also arrested for battery for striking another person in the face with a closed fist.

Guider and Wilkins remain in custody.
