Two suspects allegedly connected to car theft spree arrested

Additional arrests have been made in connection with the string of car thefts and burglaries around Jacksonville over the past months.

According to police reports, two more individuals allegedly involved in the crime spree were apprehended in Springfield yesterday.

Throughout the course of the investigation, which is still ongoing, Jacksonville Police have worked in conjunction with Springfield Police, who were able to locate the two suspects and take them into custody at approximately 4 p.m. yesterday.

According to reports, two suspects, 18-year old Emen Essien, and a 16-year old juvenile, were both arrested on valid Morgan County warrants for unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle.

While the two suspects are now custody, the Jacksonville Police Department continues to investigate multiple cases of stolen motor vehicle and criminal trespassing to vehicles.
