Prairieland United Way is sponsoring an upcoming diaper drive and baby shower in Jacksonville.

No Wet Behinds begins on Mother’s Day and encourages the community to donate supplies to help ensure a healthy start for newborns. According to a press release, size diapers, baskets, toiletries, baby products, receiving blankets and knitted baby caps will be accepted.

Statistics from babycenter.com state that the average infant needs 12 diapers a day and toddlers need at least eight a day. Diapers average around $72 per month and wipes are another $20.

Donations will be collected through Father’s Day on June 19th. Contributions can be dropped off at Prairieland United Way, 200 West Douglas.
