A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Jacksonville man in connection to a shooting that left a 20-year-old woman in critical condition at a hospital in October.

The warrant was filed on Friday in Morgan County Court for Perry Sykes on charges of  aggravated discharge of a firearm.

Jacksonville Police have already arrested 22-year-old Skee Sanders of the 700 block of North Main for aggravated discharge of a firearm and driving with a revoked license charges. He’s due in court later this month.

Officers received a report of shots fired in the 1100 block of North Clay in the early morning hours of October 11th. Upon arrival, officers located a black female with a gunshot wound. Evidence was recovered during the investigation that indicates multiple shots were fired.

Jacksonville Police had no further information on the warrant on Monday. While it’s still not clear how Sanders and now Sykes were allegedly involved in the shooting incident, prosecutors say there’s accountability language in the charges for both men.
