A sixteen-year-old boy was seriously injured in an automobile accident in Scott County Saturday night.

Reports from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office indicate it happened around 10 p-m about a quarter mile north of Sellars Road on Route 106, about three miles southeast of Winchester.

The boy was reportedly headed southbound, went off the roadway, struck an embankment, overturned and struck a tree. Officials say he was extricated and airlifted to Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

The sheriff’s office isn’t giving out a name at this time, but WLDS-WEAI News has learned that the boy is listed in critical condition this afternoon.
