Plenty of games, prizes, and other activities are being planned for White Hall’s first annual Fall Festival.

Hosted by the White Hall Police Department, the Fall Festival and a Pumpkin Run 5K will take place Saturday at Whiteside Park.

A musical performance from local group Flatland will provide entertainment. Activities for kids include a bounce house, petting zoo, obstacle course, hayrides and more.

Assistant Chief of Police Luke Coultas explains how the idea came about and what visitors can expect.

“Jacksonville has a Fall Festival on the square that we went to last year and we just thought it was a pretty neat thing for the kids and we wanted to bring a community event like that to White Hall. We’re going to have kettle-cooked chili, a 5K race to help generate funds for years to come, there should be a lot of games and activities that the businesses are going to put on. We’re hoping to have enough pumpkins to give every kid a pumpkin to take home and be able to paint,” says Coultas.

Food and beverages will also be available. United Community Bank will have a live campfire with hot dogs and s’mores. Also available will be chili, hot chocolate and a Carmel Apple Sundae bar.

The event is scheduled to run from 4 to 8 pm. For more information, check out the “1st Annual White Hall Fun Festival & 5K” facebook page.
