A Jacksonville woman arrested last year after her dog as found dead in the backyard of her residence has pleaded guilty to charges of cruel treatment of animals.

39-year-old Tamara Tedrow of the 600 block of South Fayette was initially charged with aggravated animal cruelty. She was fined $420 and sentenced to two years of conditional discharge. A 30-day jail sentence was stayed for review.

As part of the terms of her sentence, Tedrow must not possess any domestic animals.

Police were called to the home of Tedrow on October 15th, 2012 to investigate a complaint that a dog didn’t appear to have any food or water. The Morgan County Animal warden went to the home with police and found a dead dog that was lying in a cage still attached to a chain.
