WWII veterans’ family receives medals from Rep. Davis

U.S. Representative Rodney Davis presented numerous military medals to the family of a former World War II soldier yesterday afternoon at the Greene County Courthouse.

William Banghart passed away on April 27, 2000, without receiving a number of medals awarded to him as an aerial gunner in the 751st Bomb Squadron during the second World War.

The medals presented to his family included the Air Medal GO 561 Hq 1st BD 44, the 1st Silver Oak Leaf Cluster GO 328 Hq 188th AD 45, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Battle Stars, and one Overseas Service Bar.
