The coaches have picked for the 40th annual West Central Illinois Boys All Star Classic.

The game will be played Friday, March 23rd at the Jacksonville High School Bowl. It will feature top senior players from the north and south schools in the Jacksonville area.

This year’s coach for the north is Eric Anderson of Beardstown High School. Anderson is finishing up his third season as Beardstown head boys basketball coach. His squad is 13 and 12 going into play the final two weeks of the regular season.

The coach for the south squad is Will Whalen of Routt Catholic High School. Whalen served as grade school basketball coach for several years, before taking over as varsity head coach two years ago. His teams went 29 and 27 the first two seasons, and currently Routt stands at 14 and 9.

Nominations are being south from the area coaches, and voting will begin shortly. Coaches are asked to nominate players from their own teams, and then vote on their respective squads.

The results of the voting will be made public later this month.

More details about the game will be released in the coming weeks.
