JHS grad taking basketball talents overseas

Jacksonville high school alum Blake Burgess is taking his basketball talents overseas.

The JHS and William Woods University graduate, signed a deal with Strsljen Sports Management and Consulting to play professionally in Europe next season.

According to a press release, Burgess averaged 14.1 points and 5.9 rebounds in his senior season, after transferring from Lincoln Land Community College.

His post college resume includes a year with the Washington Generals, a team recognized as the opponent of the Harlem Globetrotters.

Burgess also played a season with the Pontiac 66ers of the Midwest Professional Basketball Association.
