Former Virginia standout pitcher Eric Jokisch is among 24 non-roster players invited to Chicago Cubs spring training.
Jokisch will participate in the major league camp and in Cactus League games in Arizona. The southpaw is entering his fifth season in the Cubs organization. Last year, Jokisch went 11-13 with a 3.42 ERA and 137 strikeouts for Double-A Tennessee. On August 9th, he threw a no-hitter in a 10-0 win over Jacksonville.
The 24-year-old was drafted by the Cubs in the 11th round of the MLB draft in 2010 from Northwestern University.
