MacMurray Volleyball Falls in SLIAC Championship, Ends With Honors

MacMurray College Women’s Volleyball ended their season on Saturday, falling to Westminster in the SLIAC Tournament Championship game 25-23, 17-25, 22-25, 18-25. It was MacMurray’s first appearance in the championship game since 1996. MacMurray’s season ended with an 18-16 record, the best win total for the college also since 1996.

The season didn’t end without hardware. Coach Joana Ramsey brought home SLIAC Coach of the Year for the second time in her career. Ramsey is in her second tenure as head coach for the Highlanders. She now owns a career mark of 41-48 with the school.


Sophomore Kamryn Flesner was name to the First Team All Conference, leading the conference in kills with 525. Flesner won Newcomer of the Year in the conference last season.


Junior Carissa Smith was selected to Second Team All Conference and took down a single season school record 548 digs in the campaign, besting the old mark set 2 years ago.


Senior Olivia Wall was selected to Third Team All Conference and will end her career as the only Highlander to record 1000 kills and 1000 digs in a career.
